Pet Peeve
Why is it that right after I finish talking about how foolishly in love I am with my man back in Houston with someone they then proceed to ask me out on a date? Is "I'm madly in love with someone that isn't you" a secret Portlandish code phrase for "I'm just making this up to get into your pants"?
I'm thinking I should get one of those colorful Applebee's-esque buttons made up that says "Ask me about the drink specials and my out-of-state boyfriend!"

People are always looking to fill an opportunistic gap, and even more so when the person is attractive on different levels.
Well, while I would never ask out someone who was "taken" (at least I haven't yet), I can't deny that there's something attractive and hot about a guy with a boyfriend. Sick, huh?
Take it as a compliment and tell the bums to move on. :-P
Trust me, I've often found myself inexplicably drawn to someone only to discover that what attracted me to them was that happy glow of relationship bliss.
I think it's something we see in others and want for ourselves. That or we all secretly seek the threesome.
